  I live on monthly social security and like a lot of senior citizens I am broke except for the few days of the month when my check comes in at which time I pay my bills. I went to Dr. Kerline Marcelin for laser surgery to lower the pressure in my diabetic eyes. I trusted her because I thought she was a great eye doctor. Upon arrival i was called into the side office and told that i had an $80 balance for cost my Medicare would not cover in previous visits and a $30 copay for today. Needless to say I did not have it. I asked if I could give her a check to hold for 2 weeks until I did get my social security or if I could just pay the balance at that time. I was informed that if I did not pay the entire balance now that Dr. Marcelin would not see me and I would not be able to get the much needed lazer surgery. I left the office without having the surgery. Now my eyes are hurting I have bad headaches and i have to wait to get an appointment with another doctor.
  Is this what our medical profession has come to? Turning a regular patient away over a stinking $80? Wow! Great job Dr. Marcelin you and your untrained staff should be proud. What happened to taking care of your patients? I guess its all about the money for you. You were you going to get your money Dr.Marcelin shame on you and you staff.
